BLS for Healthcare Providers

• The importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
• All of the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
• Recognize the signs of someone needing CPR
• Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants
• The importance of early use of an AED and demonstrate its use
• Provide effective ventilation by using a barrier device
• The importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
• The technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

Adult/Pediatric First Aid

• Injury Emergencies (external and internal bleeding, wounds, sprain, broken bones, burns, and more) 
• Environmental Emergencies (bites and stings, cold- and heat-related emergencies, poisonings, and more) 
• Preventing Illness and Injury

OSHA Blood-borne Pathogens

The Heartsaver BBP Course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and tagline, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act™,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training. Students learn to:

  • Protect themselves from blood or blood-containing materials.
  • Act quickly and safely.
  • Clean the area that has blood or blood-containing materials.
  • Tell their supervisor about the incident.

           Skills Session 

After completing the eLearning component, students will attend a structured Instructor-led course that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on portion with a voice-assisted manikin.

Card fee, book as well as 2yr registration with the AHA. Pre-payment is required! Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require kneeling, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities, please let me know before class. I may be able to adjust the equipment to accommodate you.
